For many Australians, January 1 is a day of recovery—getting over the parties of New Year’s Eve. But for the 150 staff and volunteers preparing for the Australian Pathfinder Camporee, this Sabbath was a day of rest, as well as a day of dedication toward the week ahead.
The group took a day away from the busyness of camporee preparations to worship together and visit the various areas on the camporee sites to dedicate these locations for the camporee and the young people who will use them.
At each activity or meeting area, the camporee team prayed together, committing these places to God and asking that He will use their work to God to impact the young people who will participate.
“Right from the beginning of planning this event, the whole process has been bathed in prayer,” says Pastor Tony Knight. ”And time we have spent praying together has always been an important part of the preparations.”
